    FASNY Volunteer Scholarship Program

    25 $1,500 scholarships to high school seniors entering college.
    Applicants must:
    1) Be in good standing with FASNY or have a legal parent/guardian who is a member.
    2) Attend high school as a senior who is enrolled in the fall 2018 school year at an accredited two- or four-year institution of higher learning or an accredited technical post-secondary school.
    3) Serve as a current Junior Firefighter, Explorer Scout, or RAM in a group affiliated with a volunteer department; a volunteer firefighter; or a volunteer with an EMS unit.
    4) Demonstrate a commitment to both volunteer emergency service and the community.

    Requirements:
    a) A resume
    b) Two letters of recommendation (one from a community leader and one from a high school official)
    c) A one-page essay written on the subject "How My Community Involved in the Fire Service has Affected My Life."
    d) A complete description of extracurricular activites (any supporting materials such as newspaper articles may be included as well)

    Applications must be mailed in and postmarked by March 15, 2018.

    Awarded to undergraduate students pursuing college studies benefiting the agricultural industry. All applicants must live in New York. It will be provided at the rate of $500 per academic year, for up to 4 consecutive years of education. Students must be full-time. Selection will be made based on the following criteria: agricultural-related areas of undergraduate study (ex: Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Crop & Soil Sciences, Entomology, Food Sciences, Horticulture, Plant Pathology, Agricultural Economics), academic achievement, leadership abilities and NYS residency.
