Welcome to Mrs. Damon's 5th grade class at school 5!
As a teacher at school #5, I pledge to make learning fun! It is my role to educate students behaviorally, socially and academically.
Through providing a positive, structured and safe learning environment; each student can acheive success!
About Me:
My name is Kristina Damon and I am 35 years old. I have been working for the Dunkirk school district since October 2015. I currently live in Dunkirk with my husband and 2 children; Alivia and Tanner. They attend school 7. I also have a 1 year old dog, named Luna. I enjoy reading and doing cross word puzzles or just interacting with the kids and following their sports schedules. I am a Buffalo Bills fan and love to listen to any kind of music or show!
Teaching Background:
I started my career teaching for COI Head Start and was there for 10 years doing UPK preschool. In 2015, I got hired at Dunkirk in my specialty area; reading teacher. I then, moved onto doing 5th grade for 1/2 a year before moving over to school #5 in 2016. I taught 2nd grade and 3rd grade, before settling on 5th grade. I am an active member of our school's reading incentive committee and help to plan evening events.
My Education:
I hold a bachelor's degree in Early childhood and Elementary education (Birth-Grade 6)
I completed my master's at SUNY Fredonina in the literacy program (grade K-6)
