Schoool #3 Maker Faire
Earth Day should be everyday! At School #3 they inspire environmental awarness among the students!
The challenge to families was to create an art or science based project out of recyclables such as paper, plastic, and aluminum. Raising awareness to families in our community about the importance of recycling, we asked families to be aware of what they are throwing out and be creative when designing. This Maker Faire showcase focused on invention, creativity, curiosity, and hands-on learning inspiring our furture in all grade levels K-5.
The best part was how much the students and families enjoyed the event.
Winners of the event include,
1st: Mario Bautista- Kindergarten
2nd: David Morales- 2nd grade
3rd: Yeisymarie Salome- 2nd grade
We also had some very special guests Dr. James Tracy, superintendent of Dunkirk City School District, City of Dunkirk Mayor, Willie Rosas, city councilman, Marty Bamanto, and Professor of Science education and our partner from SUNY Fredonia in the MSP grant, Dr. Mike Jabot.
