Absence/Tardiness: If your child will be absent or tardy to school, please call the main office for School # 4 (716) 366 – 9300 ext 4400. We ask a parent/guardian call the school and report the absence and/or tardy. You can call at anytime and leave a message; our voice mail system is available 24 hours a day. Please clearly state the child's name, grade, classroom teacher and the reason for the absence. You will still need to send a note in when your child returns to school in order to legalize the absence and/or tardy.
Late Arrivals: Arrival to school after 8:15 a.m. is considered tardy and is reflected on the student's attendance record. Parents must accompany their child to the main office and sign the student in. Your child will be given a pass to present to the classroom teacher. Please understand that to ensure proper supervision of all children in the classroom, parents may NOT accompany their child to the classroom.
Early Dismissal: Parents who want to pick-up their child prior to 2:30 p.m. is considered an early dismissal and will be reflected on the student's attendance record. If an early dismissal is necessary, we strongly encourage that a note be sent on the day of dismissal to the child's teacher. Students will be called to the Main Office for their early dismissal when the parent arrives. Please understand that if the dismissal is at a time when your child is not in the classroom (lunchroom or specials) it may take a few extra minutes to determine your child's locations. Finally, our teachers make every effort to have students prepared for the dismissal time listed on the note.
BUS/Parent Pick-up: If your child is not riding the bus home from school for any reason, you MUST send us a written note giving us the date(s) that is in effect. Without a note, we cannot keep your child off the bus. If you are picking up your child at the end of the day, you must come into the cafeteria and sign him/her out.
