I have been a special education teacher since 1989. I have taught in Dunkirk for the past 22 years. This year, I will be focusing on servicing seniors students at Dunkirk High School, teaching a study skills class and providing K-12 with Assistive Technology. Bringing technology into the general education classroom will allow students with special needs to access the curriculum using 21st Century skills and closing the gap between disability and achievement.
My education started at Buffalo State College where I obtained my Bachelor of Science certification in special education K - 12 and elementary education N-6. I also earned my Master's in Special Education. In December 2009, I graduated from Fredonia College with an administrative degree in school building leadership. In August 2010, I earned a Local Assistive Technology Specialist certification. I continue to maintain current learning through ongoing professional development.
