Abbott and Fenner Scholarship- This $1,000 scholarship is available to seniors who plan to continue their education beyond high school.  To apply, students must write an essay on the following topic:  Describe your educational, career, and life goals.  Explain your plan for achieving these goals.  Include your degree/major, why you selected it, and how this degree/major will help you achieve your goals.  Visit to submit your essay.  The deadline is June 10, 2023.  

    Army ROTC Scholarships- The Army ROTC program offers scholarships for students planning to attend a four-year school.  Students must have a grade point average of at least 2.5, score a minimum of 1000 on the SAT or 19 on the ACT, meet physical requirements, and agree to an eight-year service commitment with the Army.  For more information and to apply, visit deadlines vary and can be found on the website.

    B. Davis Scholarship- This $1,000 scholarship is open to any student who will be continuing their education beyond high school.  To apply, you must write an essay of less than 1,000 words on the following topic:  Describe the three characteristics of leadership you value most.  Discuss why you believe these traits are so important and how you feel that they are developed in an individual.  Be sure to include your name, current high school, and post-graduation plans.  E-mail your essay to  The deadline is May 21, 2023.  

    Benjamin Milak Scholarship- This scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior who struggles with hearing loss, a learning disability, or who has battled cancer.  An essay and two letters of recommendation are required as part of the application.  Essays must clearly address the qualifications as stated in the scholarship requirements.  For those students currently receiving special education services, it is suggested that a letter of recommendation from a resource room teacher be submitted as one of the two required.  For more information and to download an application, please visit www.milakscholarship.orgThe deadline is February 1, 2023.  

    BigSun Scholarship- The BigSun organization is proud to offer a $500 scholarship to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits.  All student-athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of the sport in which they participate.  The participation may be in any capacity-whether it be as a player, coach, or official.  Please visit to apply.  The deadline is June 19, 2023.  

    Buffalo Urban League Scholarship- Scholarships range from $250 to $4,000 and are awarded to students planning to attend college after graduating from high school.  Financial need, academic achievement, character, and community involvement will be considered.  The application is available at deadline is February 17, 2023. 

    Canisius College Art & Music Scholarships-

    ·         Music Scholarships- $1,500 scholarships are available to incoming freshmen.  It is not necessary to be an art or music major to apply.  The application is found at: deadline is Friday, February 15, 2023.

    Character Excellence Scholarship- The Character Council of Western New York and Harvest Time Partners are pleased to offer $1,000 scholarships to college or trade school-bound seniors who exemplify character in their daily lives.  For an application, please visit must be postmarked by February 25, 2023.

    Dr. Fred & Marian L. Bovie Technical Scholarship- This $2,000 scholarship is available to student pursuing an associate’s degree in welding.  Applicants must have a GPA of at least 74.  For more information and to apply, please visit: deadline is February 15, 2023. 

    Duquesne University Spirit of Excellence Scholarship- The Spirit of Excellence Scholarship awards a select group of students with full tuition to Duquesne University.  Special consideration will be given to applicants who have overcome hardship, disability, difficult personal situation, or faced some other disadvantage.  Interested students must also apply for admission to Duquesne by January 15th.  To apply for the scholarship, please visit deadline is January 15, 2023.

    Elks National Foundation, Inc.- Legacy Award-  This program awards $4,000 scholarships to children and grandchildren of dues-paying Elk members.  For more information and to apply, please visit deadline is February 5, 2023.

    Erie-Niagara Chapter of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers Scholarship-This $1,000 scholarship is intended for deserving high school seniors who plan to attend and are accepted into an engineering program that is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.  The application is available online at: deadline is March 18, 2023. 

    Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship- The Jackie Robinson Foundation provides a multi-faceted experience designed to not only address the financial needs of minority students who aspire to attend college, but also to guide them through the process of higher education.  To be eligible, an applicant must be a minority high school senior, plan to attend a four year institution, show leadership potential, present evidence of financial need.  The application is available at www.jackie robinson.orgThe deadline is January 11, 2023 at 5:00 PM EST.  

    John Carroll University Mission Scholarships- John Carroll University offers four competitive mission-based scholarship programs.  These include the Arrupe Scholars Program, the Honors Program, Leadership Scholars Program, and Social Innovation Fellows Program.  Winners may receive up to $5,000 and must apply online:,Based%20Program%20Living%2DLearning%20CommunityThe deadline is February 1, 2023.

    Lehigh University Soaring Together Scholarship Program- This program provides full tuition along with experiential learning opportunities to students who excel academically and demonstrate their interest and commitment to advancing gender equity.  To apply, students can share their thoughts and actions regarding gender equity in the format of their choosing.  A student might like to tell us what gender equity means to them and what they would like to see Lehigh University do next to advance gender equity.  A student might imagine a gender-equitable world.  What is one thing they see in that world and what have they done to get us there?  There are many ways to address the issue of gender equity, but an essay must be 500 words or fewer and a video response must be less than 5 minutes in length.  For more information and to apply, please visit the Soaring Together Scholarship Program website.  Students must have applied to Lehigh University before applying for the scholarship.  The deadline for the scholarship application is February 1, 2023.  

    Marist College National Science Foundation Scholarship- This scholarship covers the full tuition, room, and board for Marist College.  Applicants must be majoring in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Environmental Science.  For more information,  please visit is no deadline. 

    Mensa Foundation College Scholarship Program- Mensa awards multiple scholarships to students solely based on a 550-word essay expressing the applicant’s academic and professional goals as well as how their personal experiences will help them to accomplish those goals.  For more information, please visit:  The deadline is January 15, 2023. 

    Nitro Scholarship- This $2,000 scholarship is available to any student 17 or older who will be attending college in fall 2023.  To apply, please visit:  The deadline is January 31, 2023.

    New York State Indian Aid- This scholarship is available to students who are on the official tribal roll of a New York State tribe or who are the child of such an enrolled member.  Students can receive $1,000 per semester of full-time study.   For more information and to apply, please visit: deadline for the fall semester is July 16, 2023. 

    Norwich University High School Service Award- This scholarship, valued at $20,000 over four years, recognizes outstanding high school students for their exceptional service to the school and community.  Nominees must have taken four years of math and at least three years of laboratory science in high school.  In order to be considered, you must be nominated by your school.  Please email Mrs. Stahl at to place your name on the list for nomination by January 17, 2023.

    Pine Hill Drum & Bugle Corp. Student Grant Program-The Pine Hill Drum and Bugle Corps is pleased to announce the establishment of a Higher Education Learning Grant Program for student-members who are at least 17 years old and plan to attend a State University of New York school in the fall of 2023.  Student-Members who participate in the grant program are eligible to receive up to a $250.00 tuition grant award each spring and fall semester (with a total grant award not to exceed $500.00 in a given year) in exchange for maintaining defined grades and fulfilling established Drum Corps service requirements throughout the year.     Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) Distinguished Scholars Award- This $20,000 per year award can be applied towards tuition at any SCAD location.  To be considered, students must have demonstrated leadership skills through co-curricular or extracurricular involvement and a GPA of 3.75 (92 average) or higher.  Stellar visual arts, performing arts, writing, or equestrian capabilities are required.  Students must be nominated by their school counselor for this award.  In addition, students must be accepted into SCAD for Fall 2023.  If you are interested in being nominated, please email Mrs. Stahl at by January 17, 2023.
