School 5 adopts Puerto Rican elementary school

PR studentsStudents at School 5 recently adopted Miguel A. Sastre Oliver Elementary, a school of nearly 200 students in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, in an effort to support them following the devastation brought on by Hurricane Fiona.

Faculty and students collected school supplies, coloring books, small handheld toys, non-perishable treats, and monetary donations to cover the cost of shipping and to assist with the replacement of an air conditioner and playground equipment.

The donations were delivered last week, and the Puerto Rican school shared some photos with Dunkirk City School District.
